It’s almost time for the 4th of July and for us that means preschool firework crafts for are in the making! Bring on the fireworks, parades, and paintings!

This year I wanted to try something a little different for our 4th of July craft. So, my daughters and I created fireworks crafts by paintings with handprints!

Make Your Own 4^{^th} of July Preschool Handprint Craft

Celebrate the 4^th of July with this simple handprint fireworks painting craft with just a few supplies.

Supplies Needed for the 4^{^th} of July Handprint Firework Craft

red, white, and blue paint
paintbrush or foam brushes
paper
table cover
crayon (optional)

How to Make Your 4^{^th} of July Handprint Preschool Firework Craft

Start off by gather the supplies.

To avoid a big clean up cover your table with an old plastic table cloth or drop cloth.

Pour a small amount of red, white, and blue paint onto a paper plate.

Set black papers in front of each kid and lay brushes down for each color.

Now you are all set to start your own 4th of July preschool firework craft.

Paint a hand with one of the colors.

Celebrate your 4th of July with a simple and fun handprint firework craft perfect for kids from preschool to toddlers! Make a family collage.

Now press the painted hand firmly onto the paper.

We chose black paper to look like the night sky for our firework craft, but you could use any colored paper.

Clean the paint off of the hand. Wet wipes would probably work, but we chose to wash our hands at the sink.

Repeat the process with the two other paint colors turning the page each time so the fingers don’t overlap too much.

We overlapped the paint on the palm, but not on the fingers.

If your preschool kid wants to keep going with handprints on their 4th of July craft, go for it! Just have them try to aim their palm always for the middle.
