Musical Names Game for Kids
This music game is sure to have your kids giggling and dancing around. I know mine sure did!
Especially, when I played her favorite songs.
To Create Your Own Musical Game to Learn Names for Kids, You’ll Need:
- music
- books or construction paper
- sticky notes
- large piece of white paper
Setting Up Music Game to Learn Names for Kids
First, write you child’s name on the large piece of white paper and tape it to the wall or floor with some painters tape.
Next, write the letters of your child’s name on sticky notes and then stick them to the books.
For longer names, like my daughters, I used one book per letter. For shorter names, you may want to do 2 books per letter.
The more books around for this music game the more fun your kids will have learning their names.
I used 4 sticky notes per letter. However, you may want to start with less.
Next, place the books around the house, sticky note side facing down.
Start the Music and Get Dancing!
Now it’s the fun part! Push play and start dancing!
Music is great for getting those wiggles out! This music game for kids is awesome for this!
When the music stops, have your child go to the closest book, flip it over and take one of the sticky notes off.
Next, have you child match the letter to their name on the large piece of white paper you stuck to the wall or floor.
Matching letters in this music game will help your kids recognize and learn the letters in their name.
This Balloon Pop activity is another fun way to learn to recognize those letters.
Play the music again, and away your child goes! Having fun running, spinning and dancing!
I must say, my daughter was completely enthralled with this music name game for kids!
She absolutely loves music. The second she hears music, her body just naturally moves!
Not gracefully, by any means, but wow, does she ever have fun!
Continue playing and stopping the music until all the sticky notes are gone.
If your child grabs the last letter on a book, take that book out.
She was really excited when she finished a letter. I’m not too sure as to why, but why not, I guess!
Once your kids have completed all the letters in their music game, the finished product, looks really cool!
My daughter was beyond happy about this!
Not only are name activities fun for your child but they also give them a sense of pride and importance.
