Celebrating a birthday is one the most exciting days for kids and there are endless possibilities of ideas out there to help every child have a super magical day.

Why not try a Yes Day! This is sure to make any kids birthday super special.

Or maybe your looking for something a little more low key. These activities are sure to please, too.

Birthday’s are so much fun but they don’t have to be stressful.

Creating a simple Birthday Sensory Bin is one of those great ideas that your child will love and it won’t take much prep to make.

However, let’s be honest, it doesn’t even have to be their own birthday for a child to be ecstatic.

Helping someone else celebrate their day is fun too!

The one thing I find about birthdays these days, is that people aren’t buying cards as often anymore. I’ve seen some people give books with a personal message in the front or they have their own children create a cute card.

My girls absolutely love making cards, hence, the reason why I came up with this super simple birthday card for preschoolers to make.

Confetti Birthday Card Preschoolers Can Make

To create your own DIY Confetti Birthday card, you will need:

  • construction paper
  • a hole punch
  • glue
  • a paint brush
  • a small container

Tip: if your preschoolers still find it hard to use a hole puncher, try grabbing a reduced effort hole puncher.

Make DIY Confetti for Your Birthday Card

First, have your preschoolers hole punch multiple holes into construction paper creating DIY confetti for the birthday card.

Let the kids pick whatever colors they want to.

Hole punching is great fine motor practice for kids.

When the hole punch tray gets full, empty it into a small container.

Design Your Birthday Card with Your Preschoolers

Next, fold a piece of paper to make a card and draw an outline for your child or if your child is older they can do this step themselves.

Or ask your preschoolers what kind of birthday card they want to make for their friend or family.

Draw a number, balloons, a cake or even presents or anything of your choice.

Use your imagination. Or spark theirs with some ideas!

Using a paintbrush, have your child spread glue inside the outline you created for them.

Add glue to the parts you want to have confetti stick to like you would with glitter.

Next, dump the DIY confetti onto the glue, like you would glitter, to create your pictures.

If you’d like to create separate colors, then do one outline at a time.

Hole punch, glue, dump, then shake off extra.

Then repeat with the next color like my preschoolers did with the balloons, as well as, the birthday cake cards.
