Colourful Ball Pop Activity
For this activity you will need, a small garbage bag and some ball pit balls. That’s it!
Fill the garbage bag with air and then tie it to close it.
Be sure to not to fill it too much as you will want a ball to balance in the middle of it without rolling off.
Now, its the fun part.
This ball pop activity is super simple!
Place a ball pit ball in the middle of the blown up garbage bag and then have you child smack their hands down on either side of the ball.
This was hilarious!
The balls went flying everywhere.
Hitting the walls, the roof, bouncing down the hallway, into the kitchen sink, you name it they went there.
Not only were my girls laughing, but I was, too!
It’s a good thing ball pit balls are light as my girls even got a couple bops on the head!
They just giggled even harder, though!
Just when I thought this activity couldn’t get any better than this, my girls decided to try and pop more than one ball at a time.
Oh my. Giggles galore! Full on, gut giggles!
I’m sure you’ve heard it from your kids before and will agree, it’s the best sound ever!
My girls loved this activity and continued to pop the balls over and over again.
I absolutely love how simple this ball activity was to make.
It took me less than 2 minutes and we were ready to go!
Extend Ball Pop Activity for More Fun & Learning
- Say a color and have your child pop that colored ball.
- Say a number and have your child try to pop that corresponding number of balls at the same time.
- Try using different weighted objects (not too heavy, though) to see which ones pop the furthest.
- Try popping the balls using varying strengths of hand smacks. I.e. “Smack your hands lightly!” “Smack your hands hard!” What happens? Did you notice a difference?
This ball popping activity lasted about 30 minutes and I can honestly say it was a definite win!
I will absolutely be doing this activity again!
