This time, I also got out toothpicks and beads to make a fun, low-prep color sorting activity for my three year-old.

Make Color Sorting Activity with Play Dough, Beads, and Toothpicks!

To make color sorting towers, you will need:

  • play dough in a variety of colors
  • beads that match the play dough colors and are large enough to fit over a toothpick
  • toothpicks

After gathering your supplies, form balls out of each color of play dough.

Your child may want to help with this step!

Rolling play dough is a great skill to work on. But, if they are struggling, just let them squish a round blob.
