Ball pit balls are not only good for rolling around and hiding in but they are also amazing to use in other activities.

Sticky Line Ball Rolling Activity

For this activity, you will also need painters tape.

Tape a few lines of tape on the floor with the sticky side out.

Give your child a container of ball pit balls.

Have them roll the balls and try to stick them to the tape lines on the floor.

My daughter quickly found out that if she rolled the ball too hard it would just fly right over the tape.

Problem solving at its best!

At first, I only set up 3 lines of tape for the ball rolling activity.

But my daughter asked for more as soon as she finished those.

She was excited to keep playing.

Ball Drop Activity

For this fun ball game, you will need a flat open box and a container or cup about the same size or slightly bigger than the ball pit balls.

Place the cup about a ball width away from each side of a corner. I used the ball to gage this.

Measure a full ball width between the corners and the hole you are cutting.

Trace the cup in that place and then cut out the hole.

Now your child is ready to play the ball drop activity.

Have your child grab the box and move it around to try and get it into the hole.

My daughter had so much fun with this ball game! Look at that smile!

Ball Runway Track

For this ball activity, you will need:

  • stairs or another piece of furniture with some height (couch, coffee table)
  • flattened cardboard
  • painters tape
  • laundry basket
  • items to place under ramp to hold it up (see picture below)

To set up this activity, I first placed a flatten piece of cardboard on our stairs and used painters tape to hold it in place.

Ensure you leave some extra at the end of stairs to create the ramp (see picture above).

Next, I propped up the end of the cardboard with some items to create the ramp. I used a stool on its side and some yoga mats.

I then placed a laundry hamper at the end as a target for the balls.

However, I must say that in this activity a lot of the balls just went crazy everywhere, which my daughter thought was hilarious!

Have your kids sit on the step above the cardboard runway.

Hand them a basket of balls and have them try to roll them down to end up in the basket at the bottom.

Both my girls played with this ramp for about an hour. They also built it multiple times through out the next week. They absolutely loved it!

Ball Stretch and Jump

The only additional item you need for this activity is painters tape.

This activity is similar to the Ball Roll but instead the tape lines are on the wall.

Tape line sticky side out just above your child’s reach when standing flat on their feet.

This will force them to have to reach up on their toes and stretch for this ball activity.

When we first started this activity, I placed the tape lines like I did on the floor. Just looped around.

However, we quickly found out that they needed some reinforcement so I added extra tape to the sides to hold the weight of the balls better.

I must also add that the shorter the tape the line, the less likely it is to slip down.

We did some lines of tape just beyond their reach also to add more challenge and fun.

My daughter would reach and jump as high as she could to try and place the balls on the tape.

All four of these fun ball games have provided my children with hours of fun.

Your kids are sure to love them, too!

Go ahead and give one or more of these a try! Share your experiences with us. We’d love to hear them.
