Christmas Wrapping Paper Tree & Presents Matching

Have you ever tried turning leftover wrapping paper scraps into a holiday learning game? That’s what we did with this Christmas Tree & Presents Matching activity!

We cut out trees, made simple presents, and watched my preschooler match and glue. Easy, budget-friendly, and a preschooler’s delight! Ready for some holiday fun and learning?

I gotta share that I first found this amazing Christmas learning activity a couple of years ago and did it with Henry when he was only two years old (so this would be great for both toddlers and preschoolers). Shoutout to the genius mind of Allison at No Time for Flash Cards for this one!

I raided my stash of leftover wrapping paper scraps (you know, the ones too small to really use to wrap anything, but big enough that I didn’t want to throw) and I cut out a Christmas tree shape from four different wrapping paper patterns and glued them to a big sheet of paper.

I grabbed some more scraps, roughly cut them into squares making presents for our makeshift Christmas trees.

I mixed the presents into a pile for Henry to then sort and match each wrapping paper present to its corresponding Christmas tree. The concentration on his little face was priceless!

He got busy gluing each present under its matching tree.

You don’t need fancy wrapping paper. This activity is just as epic with colored pieces of paper, so use whatever you have around.

If you’re up for some holiday crafting that’s easy, budget-friendly, and a total win for preschoolers, give this Christmas Tree & Presents Matching a shot. Trust me, it’s more than just an activity – it’s something to do during the holidays, it’s learning, and it’s fun and festive!
