Monsters are my favorite art project for toddlers to create! Why? Because monsters can be absolutely anything, especially these handprint monsteres! There’s no right or wrong way to make it.

These handprint monsters for Halloween are just that! All about the creation process, and the product of it ends up adorable too!

However… I have a confession.

Halloween is not a holiday I enjoy.

But these CUTE handprint monsters came to mind as I was looking at a jar full of googly eyes.

And I just had to make them with my daughters.

These handprint googly eye monsters actually turned out cuter than I had envisioned!

These handprint monsters for Halloween are all about the creation process (monsters can be anything!), and the product of it ends up adorable too!

The Monster Supply List:

You can create your own handprint monsters with googly eyes with the following supplies.

How to Make these Adorable Handprint Monsters

Begin by covering the table with a table cover. (I use a washable drop cloth for our projects. You can use a sheet, tablecloth, old blanket, or newspapers.)

Then, set out a piece of paper and pour paint onto a paper plate. We chose orange, pink, and neon yellow. Of course, you can choose whichever colors you would like.

Next, paint one hand with the paint. We decided to paint one color at a time, but you could try multiple colors.

Next, press the painted hand on to a piece of paper (just like we did for the spider handprints).

We filled in the unpainted areas of the handprint with the same color paint.

Repeat these steps with as many handprint monsters as you would like.

My daughters made a total of three, in the different paint colors we chose.

press the hand fully onto the paper. You can fill in holes of the hand after.

Then, be sure to allow time to let the paint dry before making your handprints into these amazing googly eye monster creations!

Add in details to turn these handprints into monsters!

Once completely dry, it’s time to add in details of your monsters with the glue and googly eyes.

Glue the googly eyes onto the handprints.

Be creative! These are monsters. There’s no correct number of eyes to use. Or where they may go on the handprint!

You can add in a little bit of hands-on learning and count all of the googly eyes as you glue them to the handprint.

We used 23 googly eyes in all!

Get it… hand-on learning? Handprint? These handprint monsters are cracking me up.

Be creative and add googly eyes to make monsters! How many eyes will your monster have?

You can also talk about different sizes if you have a variety of googly eyes.

My daughter chose to glue bigger googly eyes on the tips of the fingers on the pink handprint.

Then, she glued smaller googly eyes below those ones.

My daughter also found a jewel mixed in with the googly eyes. Of course, she had to glue that on to one of the handprints, too!

Finally, my daughters drew mouths on the handprints to finish off their monsters.

Drawing faces on the googly eye handprint monsters

I mentioned they could color a background for the handprint monsters, but they didn’t want to do that.

But how cute would it be to add in a black background and spider webs or a haunted house? This could be a great drawing prompt for older kids!

Aren’t these googly eye handprint monsters CUTE?
