It’s almost Valentine’s Day! Bring on the hearts!
Foam hearts are great for so many activities, so I always have some on hand.
We’ve used them to decorate Valentine’s day cards, heart wreaths, gift bags, and more.
This year I was inspired by what I found at my local Dollar Tree.
So many wood pieces to use for crafts. And only $1 each!
I just had to buy the mini chalkboard with the wood frame.
Perfect frame to decorate with hearts for February!
Materials for our Foam Heart Valentine Frames Craft
- chalkboard with wooden frame (found at Dollar Tree)
- self-adhesive foam hearts
- sparkly foam hearts
- Elmer’s school glue
I was going to use only the self-adhesive foam hearts for our frame craft since they are so easy to use.
But my daughters saw the (non-adhesive) sparkly foam hearts.
Of course, we had to use those, too!
So, I grabbed the above materials to make a simple Valentine’s Day frame craft.
How We Decorated Our Foam Heart Valentine’s Day Frame Craft
This was a super simple craft!
To start, my daughters positioned some of the foam hearts on the frame to see where they wanted them.
Then, they peeled the back from the self-adhesive foam hearts.
Next in their crafts, they pressed the sticky side of the foam hearts on to the wood frame.
This is great for fine motor skills practice!
If they hadn’t seen the glittery hearts, that’s all we would have done!
But, it wasn’t that much work to use the nonsticky foam hearts.
My daughters glued the rest of the hearts on to the frame.
Then, we let our heart frame crafts dry.
Like I had said, it was a super simple craft!
We talked about writing a message or adding a picture, but we haven’t done that yet.
I think it looks adorable hanging on our wall.
