Sometimes kids just need to MOVE. Whether they have pent up energy from school or a long car ride, this action song list for preschoolers and kindergarten can be your next go-to for getting your young kids excited to dance and move.
There are lots of classic action songs for young children to rhyme and dance to that we remember from our childhood. Classic rhyming songs and chants that I remember as a child are Itsy Bitsy Spider, I’m a Little Teapot, The Wheels on the Bus, and Ants Go Marching.
These twelve action songs are guaranteed to bring a smile to your child’s face (and yours!) as they shake, jump, and even blast off like a rocket!
I have provided links to YouTube, though when I use YouTube I conceal the screen so the kids just think it is music and can create their own movements. But you can choose to let them follow along if you’d like (which may work better for circle time, or a classroom setting).
Conveniently, all of the songs below can also be found on Spotify!
Young kids learn best when they are moving, and these move and learn activities are super fun and easy!
Get ready for some fun and giggles! Whether you look up some classic nursery rhymes and action songs, or find some new fun in the songs below, you’ll be giggling and creating memories.
